Author Richard Crombleholme Debuts with Thriller “His Own Blood”

The novel plays homage to the action movies of the 1970s and 1980s through the trials and tribulations of legendary soldier John Raven.

His Own Blood focuses on legendary soldier John Raven, who is compelled to come out of retirement when he finds out Colonel Lewis, his mentor and father figure, has died. The death of Colonel Lewis touches John deeply, and he begins to have flashbacks to his days as a Green Beret, when Colonel Lewis’s training saved him from his path of self-destruction. Because of John’s prowess as a soldier and a request made by Colonel Lewis, the military turns a blind eye to John’s actions. Determined to right his past sins, John begins training the new recruits of Unit Invincible, an elite military force. When John discovers one of his recruits is his son, his mission acquires a greater responsibility and he returns to the service to protect his country, and, more importantly, the son he never knew existed.

Crombleholme’s novel pays homage to the classic action movies of the 1970s and 1980s, particularly those that featured Sylvester Stallone. “In a person’s life, each and everybody will always have a favourite that will never change no matter who or what comes along,” Crombleholme states, “For me, it is Sylvester Stallone. Everyone of his movies is legendary, but what has always stayed in my mind is when he plays the part of the soldier.”

Richard Crombleholme currently lives in the United Kingdom with his wife Debbie, their daughter Sarah, and the family’s two dogs. He was inspired to become an author by his secondary school English teacher, who recognized his talent at an early age. Encouraged by his wife and daughter, Richard began and completed his first novel, and is currently writing the highly anticipated sequel to His Own Blood.
