The technological thriller follows Casey Dwyer, a small town girl who unwittingly becomes caught in a spirit’s bloodthirsty quest for vengeance.
Phoenix, AZ (PRnine – August 18, 2008) – In response to the success of his first novel, A Death at the North Pole, author Joel M. Andre released his second novel, Kill 4 Me, a technological thriller set in rural America. The story follows Casey Dwyer, a small town girl who becomes caught in a spirit’s unrelenting quest for vengance after she receives a cryptic and seemingly harmless text message.
Kill 4 Me is a supernatural thriller that explores how technology can be used to torture others through the lens of a horror novel.
Joel M. Andre elaborates, “Horror is a great genre where your mind can go anyway and anything, plausible or not, can be explored. There is a greater range of emotions you can explore freely, whereas in other genres you are held to basic emotions. I was at work one day, and began to think of how technology, through increasing the ways we can contact and reach out to human beings, is also increasing the ways in which we can inflict mental anguish on others.”
Though hesitant, a curious Casey reciprocates contact with the unknown party. As their communication progresses, the person makes increasingly violent demands of Casey. Casey attempts to cut off contact with the person, but finds the person has begun killing her loved ones in retaliation. She is faced with the dilemma of killing others for the unknown person, or seeing more of her loved ones die at the hands of a mysterious killer.
Born in Cottonwood, AZ, Joel M. Andre currently lives in Phoeniz, AZ. His first novel, A Death at the North Pole, is a thriller set in the detective-mystery genre. He has also published a collection of poetry entitled Pray the Rain Never Ends. His third novel, The Price of Blood, is slated for publication on October 31, 2008.
