iWave Solutions Develops CMS Solution for Transnational Global Warming Project

November 8, 2008

The Hawaii-based firm developed a platform for the Pacific RISA project, a University of Hawaii endeavor with scientists and other stakeholders in the Pacific Islands to assess and study the effects of climate change in the region.

Kahului, HI (PRnine – November 8, 2008) – Hawaii-based software development firm iWave Solutions recently completed a CMS solution for the Pacific Regional Integrated Science and Assessment (RISA) Center for the University of Hawaii’s East West Center (EWC) through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

A collaborative effort between scientists and stakeholders in the Pacific Islands and the United States, the Pacific RISA endeavor necessitates a platform that effectively facilitates communication and data flow between parties in geographically disparate locations. Through comprehensive design and effective communication with all involved parties, iWave Solutions not only delivered a product that met the project requirements, but added to the project’s scope as well.

In addition to creating Pacific Risa’s CMS solution, the firm was also instrumental in assisting the University of Hawaii’s East West Center with the development of Pacific RISA’s templates through its guidance it provided to EWC on NOAA’s user interface, with an emphasis on enabling community driven content.

The ability to seamlessly integrate stakeholders has earned iWave Solutions praise from the Pacific RISA staff.

According to Dr. Cheryl Anderson, Director of University of Hawaii’s Hazards, Climate and Environment Program, iWave’s CMS solution has become an important tool in sustaining Pacific RISA’s relationships with stakeholders in remote regions.

Moreover, the firm has gone over the call of duty by providing Project RISA and UH’s EWC with invaluable training and guidance in the potential directions the CMS solution can take Project RISA.

“We now realize there is tremendous potential for distributing information through the site,” states Dr. Supin Wongbusarakum, Project Leader for Pacific RISA.
