The handcast pewter busts will honor our nation’s past presidents alongside the U.S. Mint’s Presidential dollar coin series.
Colorado (PRnine - October 15, 2008) - The legacy of acclaimed artist Michael Ricker is lending itself to a new series of collectible pewter busts commemorating the U.S. Mint’s release of the Presidential dollar coin series, which began in 2007 with George Washington and will end in 2016. To honor our nation’s past presidents alongside the U.S. Mint, Designs by Ricker is releasing matching collectible pewter busts to showcase the dollar coins in a unique setting. Each handcrafted collectible Presidential coin bust will be handcast to order, and is available to numismatics and casual coin collectors alike online at http://www.ricker.com.
Although Ricker passed in 2006, his brother Gary Ricker and his sister Mary Jo Simons are continuing their brother’s craft in his memory, and collectors can expect the same artistry and attention to craftsmanship that led Ricker’s work to be received by dignitaries, such as former President Ronald Reagan, to be present in each of the Presidential sculptures in this collectible series. Ricker’s work has always been inspired by his love of the American life. Ricker’s crowning achievement, “Park City,” is the largest pewter sculpture ever created. The three-dimensional replica of a turn-of-the-century small American town was presented to former President Gerald Ford in a 1986 ceremony with famed musician Glenn Campbell.
